I have purchased and used 3 sets of these lights ( both fog and driving).Originally purchased models many years ago which were made in Germany.Current models I have purchased are made in Mexico.Quality has slightly slipped but still a good quality light from a company making lighting for many years.The 500 series is a main staple for Hella's fog light line.Not too big and not too small. Good beam pattern.Would recommend this series.Please note that I have mixed reviews on Hella's 500FF design of the computer designed reflector.Not as good as the standard 500 model in my opinion.Beam not as precise.

Okay, so the mounting mechanism is sorta cheesy albeit effective, and the wiring kit is similarly clunky. But: These are top-quality glass lenses and reflectors. They put a great pattern on the road and if you put 100 watt bulbs in them (available from many auto parts stores) they put a nice flood of light out the front. And, incidentally, these are the same lenses and reflectors as the OEM fog lights on 2003-2006 Jeep Wranglers, so if a rock whacked one of your lenses and destroyed it, just buy a pair of these for the price of one OEM fog lamp and swap out the reflector assembly, and then you'll have a spare. That's what I did, and it came in handy when *another* rock hit my fog lights (sigh! And I'm on my third windshield too... Jeep Wranglers are such rock magnets!).

I bought these fog lamps to add extra light to the poor headlights all Jeep Cherokee's are known for. They fill all the "holes" in the light pattern from my headlights, and allow me to see MUCH better on dark roads especially when it's raining. They give an excellent broad flat pattern. IMO excellent lights, especially for the money.
I agree the instructions should be better, but I had no problems since I used the factory fog light wiring harness. Installation took about 1 hour.
